The Old Rectory Kindergarten Outside Area

We are extremely lucky to have such a large and well equipped outside play area for the children to use and enjoy every day. They experience all seasons, whatever the weather in a secure environment.

We are able to cover all areas of learning and provide opportunities to do this in many ways, children can climb, run, paint, dig and visit our pets corner. Staff use the Gazebo to provide story and music time. When the weather allows we eat 'Al Fresco', go on 'bear hunts' and have teddy bears picnics.

We build our own dens, grow our own flowers and experience the wildlife. When it snows we build snowmen and see what happens when the snow gets warm. In the vegetable patch we sow and grow, then harvest food to eat, cabbage, strawberries and carrots to name just a few.

In the summer we hold a 'bugs ball' and 'graduation' for the children who are leaving to go to school. We include a 'sports day' and a stay and chat for parents too.
