The Old Rectory Kindergarten Moorcroft Grange 2-3 Room

The room is provided with its own kitchen, directly off the room, which allows staff to meet the individual requirements for feeding of each child. The bathroom and changing area are just a short distance from the room helpful for the older babies during potty training. An important aspect of our philosophy for babies is that their individual sleep patterns are respected and adhered to. This means there are no set sleep patterns or times during the day and babies only sleep when they require to.

Each child has their own key worker responsible for daily diaries and planning for individual children. All our practitioners in this room work closely with parents to develop a strong relationship ensuring the child’s individual requirements are met.The larger of our 2 nursery rooms this room is sectioned to divide it into different areas that provide facilities for messy play, reading, construction, information communication and technology (ICT) and home corner areas.

On either side of this room we also have a sensory room - always a favourite with the children, and a forest room containing animal pens - currently housing rabbits and guinea pigs. This room also provides access to a developing outside area that provides daily free flow access to the outside play areas. The OFSTED Early Years framework requires children to be school ready prior to joining school.

This requires that children are exposed to Literacy and numeracy learning, ICT experiences and have an understanding of the world around them. As a forest school the children in this room enjoy regular trips to the adjacent Grange park area to explore and develop their understanding of the natural world around them.
