Sensory room

picture of a blue and cream mouseWe provide 2 quieter rooms off the main nursery room, which is a bright, stimulating environment for children. The Sensory Room and Forest Room provide quieter environments in which children are engaged in quieter activities such as story time, circle time and can indulge in fantasy play using puppets and a variety of soft toys.

The sensory room is used to provide children with a quiet yet stimulating environment with the use of different forms of light shows and to stimulate their sense of touch with the use of feely boxes in which a variety of different types of materials are used to educate and enhance the children's use of their sense of touch. Speech development exercises are used by encouraging children to express just what it is they see and or feel when using the light shows and feely boxes in this room.
