What are your opening hours?

We are open Monday to Friday 51 weeks of the year from 8am to 6pm excluding bank holidays

How do i register my child?

Please visit the parent pack section of the website and print off the pdf application form. Then return this to us in person or via post. Alternatively, call us for an application form or visit us in person where a member of our staff will be happy to show you around.

Is there a waiting list for registration applications?

Yes, we advise you to register your interest as soon as possible to avoid disappointment as we are often full to capacity although this is of course ever changing.

Do you offer free child places?

We provide 15 hours of free childcare for 3-4 year olds under the national government childcare scheme.Please contact us for more information.

How will my child be helped to settle?

Every child is different and some require short visits with parents, while others want to explore on their own on their first visit. We will accomodate each child individually to enable each child to settle as quickly as possible. Settling at nursery is often more worrying for parents than children, to help make the experience as stress free as possible for both the parent and child we offer lots of opportuniites to ask questions before you leave and to stay and play with your child in the setting.

Does my child need to bring anything to nursery each day?

We ask that parents provide nappies, wipes, creams and baby formulas. It is also advised that you provide any comforters your child may need such as blankets, dummies or favourite teddy. In the winter please dress your child appropriately for the cold weather- a warm coat and hat plus weather proof shoes. In the summer please provide sun cream and a sun hat.

What if my child requires mediciation?

We are happy to administor any prescitpion medication at nursery on the condition that the parent completes the medication a medication administration form and that your child appears well enough to attend. All medication must be labelled with your childs name, the dosage required and the date it was prescribed.More information on our medication policy can be found in the initial information pack.

What if my child is unwell?

We provide a list of illnesses and exclusion periods in our policies and procedures which can be requested anytime. A few of the most common illnesses are as follows: Temperature above 38 degress- 24 hours or until temperature returns to normal without the need for medication. Loose nappies, diarrhea or vomiting - 24 hours or until toileting returns to normal. conguntivitus- 24 hours after drops have been administered. If your child develops any of these symptoms within the setting we will contact you immediately.

What happens if my child has an accident at nursery?

All staff are trained in pediatric first aid and should your child have a minor accident we will endavour to comfort your child and tend to the wound appropriately. On collection of your child you will be required to complete an accident form which we keep on record within the premises and they can be requested at anytime. For more serious accidents, the parents are contacted immediately and in extreme cases this could also involve calling the support of a paramedic. If the child has an accident at home which has resulted in physical injury we request that you inform the staff on arrival at nursery and also complete an existing injuries form.

Do children have set sleep routines?

We adopt a flexible sleep policy where your child is free to sleep whenever they choose. If they happen to miss a meal time we ensure their meal is provided for them once the awake. All sleep times will be documented in their daily diary.

What is your safeguarding policy?

All staff are aware of the importance of safeguaring children and have had relevent training. Each member of staff is required to undergo an enhanced criminal records bureau check to prior to employment.If we deem a child is at risk we are duty bound to contact the local childrens safeguarding board to raise our concern.All parents are free to view our safegaurding policies at anytime.

How secure are the premises?

Our premises are extremely secure and we have installed code only entry doors and operate a password protected collection service whereby, if anyone other than the parent is collecting the child a pre-arranged password is required.

Yes, we provide a healthy, balanced menu that meet all dietary and cultural requirements. Please visit the healthy eating section our website for more information.

Do you follow a curriculum?

Yes, we follow the early years foundation stage curriculum for 0-5 year olds ensuring your childs learning covers all areas of development.We believe in 'making learning fun' and encourage staff to follow the curriculum in creative and interesting ways

Are you OFSTED inspected?

Yes, we are inspected by OFSTED and recently gained OUTSTANDING in all 17 areas at our Rectory Kindergarten,Burlsem setting. We have yet to be inspected at the Manor House, Knutton setting but aim to achieve the same high standards throughout.Please visit the OFSTED report link for more details.

How do i pay my childs fees?

We accept payment via a variety of methods that best suits you although it is preferable if you can pay in advance by cheque or standing order.
